On the outskirts of the Desert of Imagination is Whimville, a town who’s population is made up of the imaginary friends of millions of children all over the world. Someone, or something, is bent on taking over The Land of Imagination and it’s up to Mugsy Rabbit, Bugsy, and Dr. Sprocket to stop them.

The original dot com WHIMVILLE site first appeared online in April 2003. Along with Lea Hernandez’s RUMBLE GIRLS and James Kochalka’s AMERICAN ELF, WHIMVILLE was a stand alone site with free comics previews, free updating content and a pay wall hiding the archives. Along with MODERN TALES, WHIMVILLE was another experiment by the late Joey Manley in the early part of the new century to help webcomics artists make a living doing what they loved the most… making comics. The experiment would be marginally successful (only AMERICAN ELF wss able to make any kind of reasonable amount of revenue for its creator) and as the years drew on and other models of making a living (or not making a living) with webcomics would come and go.

WHIMVILLE would eventually close down as would MODERN TALES and WEBCOMICSNATION after some time. I never had a chance to finish this story, even though I’d build other stories in the future based on its already established ideas…

This year I plan to upload and post these original strips once a week and when the old material runs out, continue the story to its end… Wish me luck…
