Hey Shane, don't apologize! You're totally entitled to your opinion and I don't take it personally. Like I said on the writeup there's really no reason for me to like this series. No rational reason whatsoever. I'm definitely more a fan of the manga than the anime, though, and agree that the animated version can be a bit annoying. Willy G is right about taste being subjective too and this is definitely the comics equivalent to, say, the music of Kanye West or something, as opposed to something more classic and refined. And it is DEFINITELY a typical Japanese boy's comic. No doubt about it.

Don't feel bad that you had such an adverse reaction to it. I was anticipating getting that kind of reaction from someone. I'd be very surprised if I actually get anyone to post that they like AIR GEAR as much as I do. It really is a strange thing for me to have gotten into, but it is what it is.

Comics are like music, it's all personal taste when it comes down to it. You can sit there and talk about the mastery of The Beatles/Jack Kirby all day, but you're still going to slip on your iPod/fire up the internet at some point and get down to Lady Gaga/Image United.

I think Cat is right in his appreciation of the art. There is a lot of great design sense in it. And yeah, the ass ad titties are nicely drawn.

The story...ehn. Typical Japanese boy's comic.

I apologize. I'm an asshole for crapping all over your enthusiasm about something you enjoy. I should have simply said "it's not for me." Or better yet, I should have said nothing at all.

Sorry dude, I don't see the appeal. It's quite possibly one of the most idiotic things I've ever attempted to watch. The closest thing to this that I can think of that I've ever bothered to read would be Scott Pilgrim. And this is no Scott Pilgrim. I don't understand what you see in this.
